Camp Brainy Bunch is hiring enthusiastic summer instructors to teach and inspire our campers this summer!
Camp Brainy Bunch runs summer day camps at various locations throughout the Bay Area. Our curriculum combines the best parts of school (learning!) with the best parts of camp (fun!). Each week our instructors teach a different curriculum designed to help our campers try on new identities as doctors, lawyers, writers, engineers, inventors and broadcasting. We are hiring educators who love kids and love teaching!
Student Grades: 1st-6th
Hour/Week: 30 - 40

- Orinda/Walnut Creek June 10 - Aug 2 (M-F)
- Fremont June 10 - Aug 2 (M-F)
- Sunnyvale June 17 - Jul 26 (M-F)
- San Jose (East) June 17 - Jul 26 (M-F)
** Also seeking substitute teachers for all locations.
This is a temporary summer role.
Instructor Responsibilities
Pre-Camp:
Attend mandatory paid staff training
Study and practice assigned curriculum until you are able to deliver them with confidence and enthusiasm
Camp:
- Work on-site from 8 AM -3:15 PM at the assigned camp location
- Some additional hours available for staff willing to work extended care from 3:15-5:30
- Responsible for the successful delivery of camp curriculum including adaptation and differentiation to enhance the experience and enjoyment of students, as well as to meet individual needs
- Support and lead camp games and activities outside of instruction
- Supervise all students in your care with constant attention to safety (physical and emotional)
- Support camp operations, including morning care, check-in/check-out, clean up, etc.
- Maintain daily communication with parents/guardians at check-in and checkout
- Treat all campers, parents, and co-workers with respect, empathy, and kindness
- Keep camp director updated and informed of daily success and needs
- Maintain high standards of professionalism and integrity

Qualifications/Requirements:
- College graduate or current college student nearing completion with experience in teaching elementary school students
- Ability to speak confidently and compassionately with parents
- Direct experience working with 1st-6th grade students
- Flexible and willing to have fun and support camp wherever needed
- Ability and skills necessary to teach the assigned curriculum, classroom of camp experience preferred
- Creative, trustworthy, high-energy, passionate for camp, inspiring, excellent communication skills, organized, and flexible
- Current CPR/First Aid certification a plus
- Willingness to commit to Camp Brainy Bunch safety protocols
